Wedding planning is all about timing, and finding the perfect dress for the mother of the bride/groom and bridesmaids is no exception. Shopping at the right time ensures you have the best selection, enough time for alterations, and a stress-free experience. Here’s our seasonal guide to help you shop at the right moment based on your wedding date!
Spring Weddings
Spring weddings are a more eclectic mix of softer winter colours or of soft pastels and florals, it is best to start dress shopping a year before as Spring styles typically do not begin arriving until the start of March.
Summer Weddings
Summer weddings often call for vibrant colours and elegant silhouettes. Many of our summer styles begin arriving in the shop in early May, if you are shopping for a June wedding we would recommend looking a year out.
Fall Weddings
Autumn weddings are known for rich tones and textured fabrics. We often stock darker colours all year round but we receive the bulk of our fall styles at the end of August.
Winter Weddings
For a winter wedding, think luxurious fabrics like velvet, and satin or long-sleeve styles. If you’re looking for a winter wedding, we stock darker colours all year round but if you are looking for more textured fabrics we would recommend shopping in October or November.
Winter Destination Weddings
Destination weddings are harder to shop for and will require a longer lead time, we would recommend shopping in the Summer to ensure finding vibrant options for a tropical wedding.
Dress Shopping Tips
-Shop with the season in mind. Some colours and styles are harder to find during certain months, shopping early ensures more choices.
-Allow for alteration time. Frequently you will need alterations, especially when it comes to length, factor this into when you decide to start shopping.
-Bring inspiration. We would recommend having the bride or groom send you a colour palette inspiration or an overall theme collage for the wedding.
